Clear electrical design for new loads and existing systems

Electrical engineering starts with understanding the loads, available service, equipment ratings, and the owner’s intended use. Genesis Fortune develops electrical design documents for renovations, build-outs, distribution changes, and building-system improvements.

An existing property may need load information, available drawings, equipment records, or a site review before the design is defined. We identify those information needs at the start so a proposal can distinguish investigation work from the construction drawing scope.

Power, lighting, and distribution design

Depending on the project, electrical deliverables can include power and lighting layouts, load calculations, panel schedules, one-line or riser diagrams, equipment schedules, and design details. The scope can address new equipment loads, circuit coordination, and changes to distribution equipment.

Design coordination considers architectural layouts and the mechanical and plumbing equipment included in the project. A clear drawing package explains the intended connections and equipment requirements for review and construction; it does not replace contractor field verification or required inspections.

Existing electrical equipment and load investigations

Property owners may have incomplete panel schedules, uncertain equipment sources, or questions about whether a proposed load can be accommodated. A focused investigation can help establish the design starting point and identify records or measurements needed.

Thermography and electrical observations can be scoped separately where appropriate. An infrared inspection identifies observed thermal conditions at the time of inspection; it is different from a load-capacity analysis or a complete distribution redesign. The proposal should state which question each service addresses.

Standby power and equipment upgrades

Standby power projects involve more than selecting a generator size. Loads to be served, distribution arrangements, transfer equipment, available space, fuel coordination, and operating priorities affect the design. Genesis Fortune can scope electrical coordination around the owner’s backup-power needs.

For equipment replacements and service or switchgear changes, available utility information, existing drawings, and equipment selections help define the work. Required shutdown planning, construction execution, and specialist studies are assigned according to the agreed engagement and project team responsibilities.

Start with the project’s electrical question

Share the property address, proposed work, existing electrical plans if available, equipment and load information, and target timing. Explain whether the priority is a new design, an existing-capacity question, equipment replacement, or an inspection.

We review the starting information, clarify investigations and deliverables, and prepare an engineering proposal for the work. Genesis Fortune supports projects in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe County. Construction services can be proposed separately through Genesis Prime Group.

Common project questions

Can you review electrical capacity for new equipment?

A capacity review can be scoped based on the proposed loads and available service and load information. Field work or additional records may be necessary.

Do you prepare panel schedules and one-line diagrams?

These can be included in the electrical design package as required by the scope. Tell us which existing records are available when requesting a proposal.

Is thermography the same as an electrical capacity study?

No. Thermography examines observed thermal conditions. A capacity study evaluates loads and the relevant distribution system information. They answer different questions.

Tell us what your property needs.

Share the address, available drawings, proposed work, and target timing. Our engineering team will help define the scope.
